Presentation of: Musee Espace Air Passion
The Espace Air Passion Museum is France's leading light aviation museum, with a unique collection of aircraft and gliders dating from 1908 to the present day. You'll have the pleasure of sharing the passion of the volunteers who restore these aircraft.
The museum has a covered area of 3,500 m². Its collections specialise in light civil and military aviation, gliding, amateur construction and model aircraft.
In state-of-the-art premises, Espace Air Passion presents the history of aeronautics through some forty aircraft and gliders (some of which are still flying), covering the period 1907-1970, including René Gasnier's aeroplane, which made the first flight in Anjou, a replica of Hélène Boucher's Caudron Rafale, the world's only prototypes of flapping-wing and movable-wing aircraft, the American Piper that took part in the Liberation of Angers in 1944, etc.
For 1h30, relive the great adventure of aviation: discover the aircraft, the activities and the restoration workshops, in the order of your choice. Don't forget to take advantage of the footbridges, which offer a different view of the museum and a panoramic view of the airport, and climb aboard some of the aircraft in the collection!
The aircraft are restored in full view of the public, who can also meet the volunteer craftsmen.
The site is child-friendly. Discovery booklets are available to help families discover the world of aviation.
For the youngest visitors, there's an area where they can build a foam aeroplane and play lots of other games. Young and old alike can climb aboard two aircraft. In the Fouga Magister fighter, you can put on the pilot's helmet for a great souvenir photo!
The museum regularly offers family exhibitions and events, and during the school holidays, fun and educational workshops are organised for children aged 4 to 13.
People with reduced mobility can access 90% of the museum, as most of the collections are on display on the ground floor.
