Le Jardin du Héron, peinture murale d'Alain Thomas
The Heron Garden, under the Clisson viaduct
Why put a fresco in such an unusual place? The Viaduc was chosen for its uniqueness! The building offers a major surprise as you descend to the banks of the Moine. The perspective produced by the succession of pillars resembles the transept of a cathedral with its vaults. A veritable showcase for the work Le Jardin du héron, which can be viewed in two ways (close-up and from a distance using the panoramic telescope).
Influenced by Japanese gardens, as evidenced by the large bamboo shoots, lotus flowers and the aesthetics of the water features, it is in fact the Grand-Lieu marshes and an ashy heron that Alain Thomas has represented here. |
Another mural by the same artist can be seen in the "Saint-Antoine à Clisson" historical district.
Posters of works by Alain Thomas can be found in the souvenir shop of the Destination Vignoble Nantais Tourist Office, place du minage in Clisson.
