On Sunday 7 December, from 10am to 6pm, the Domaine is celebrating its birthday! It's a festive day to discover the medicinal gardens in a whole new way, with talks, workshops, games and botanical outings to celebrate the end of the year in good spirits.

It's free, there's no need to book, and everyone is welcome! The day is punctuated by a number of highlights...

The day's programme
- Nature activities and traditional know-how

Discover our medicinal gardens on two guided tours:
- 10.00 am: Winter plants
Come and discover the plants that support your body during the cold season: those that stimulate immunity, warm you up and bring you energy and comfort. This stroll through the medicinal gardens will be an opportunity to learn how to recognise these winter allies and understand their traditional therapeutic uses.

- 5.00 pm: Lantern-lit vigil and magical herbs
As night falls, let yourself be transported by the light of the lanterns and the stories surrounding certain plants with mysterious virtues. Young and old alike can listen to tales and legends in a magical atmosphere.

Between these outings, become a herbalist for a day and discover the secrets of the trade:

- 11.30am: Country remedies
Immerse yourself in the history of traditional skin care and learn a few natural tricks for taking care of yourself all year round. Plant secrets, ancient know-how and anecdotes from herbalists of yesteryear will be revealed.
- 2.00 pm: Demonstration of the "vinegar of the 4 thieves".
Watch this legendary remedy being prepared! An authentic demonstration to help you understand the skills and secrets of the herbalists of yesteryear.

- Activities for children

A magical afternoon awaits the very young:
- At 4.00 pm, a Christmas story told by Sarah in the gardens to keep the youngest (and oldest) dreaming.
- Decorating the Christmas tree
- Treasure hunt to find the last ingredient of a magic potion that the garden elf has forgotten...

- An old-fashioned Christmas

Rediscover the spirit of tradition:

- At 2.30pm, take a trip down memory lane as our elders recount Christmas stories and traditions handed down from generation to generation.
- At 5.30pm, to bring the day to a close in a joyous and convivial atmosphere, join us in singing the melodies of the Vendée of yesteryear.

- Creative workshops


At 3.00pm, it's time to get creative! Over-12s can make their own lanterns, while children aged 4 and over can make pretty candle holders. It's a fun and colourful way to let your imagination run riot, and leave with your own unique creation, ready to shine at the lantern-lit wake!


Elsa, Sandrine's second daughter, is passionate about art and drawing, and will be displaying her superb botanical plates in the hangar. An exhibition full of finesse and sensitivity, not to be missed!

And don't forget: all these workshops are free and there's no registration required. Come as you are!
- And if not...
For young and old alike, we've got some fun games about medicinal plants: hopscotch, who's who, memory, quizzes and other surprises. A great way to test your knowledge while having fun! The gardens have been decked out with a host of information panels recounting the trade, working techniques and a whole host of anecdotes!


The shop will also be open throughout the day: the perfect opportunity to pick out your Christmas presents from a selection of organic products. It's the perfect way to treat yourself (or someone else) to natural, meaningful gifts, prepared with care at the Domaine.
- On-site catering
Throughout the day, you'll be able to indulge in a range of simple, comforting flavours: mogette vendéenne bread, homemade crêpes, mulled wine, hot apple juice, fragrant herbal teas and delicious bottereaux. There's plenty to warm hearts and taste buds in a friendly, gourmet atmosphere.
