Presentation of: CONCERT D'ORGUE - FETE DES PLANTES - << ORGANISTES EN HERBE >>
Teacher: Michel BOURCIER
2 concert times: 11.30am & 4.30pm
The organ is a young instrument! As part of the Fête des Plantes in Vouvant, "Organistes en herbe" will this year be welcoming some brilliant students from the organ class at the Conservatoire de région de Nantes, under the guidance of their teacher, Michel Bourcier. There are some 200 organ classes in conservatoires and music schools in France.
A former student himself at the Conservatoire de Nantes and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, Michel Bourcier has been the 'unfortunate' titular organist of Nantes Cathedral since the fire in 2020. He began his career as a teacher at the conservatoires of La Roche-sur-Yon and Rennes.
Many brilliant professional organists have emerged from his class and his teaching, including Virgile Monin, organist in residence at Vouvant since the organ was built.
It is extremely important for young organists in training to be able to discover and work on different instruments. "Organists in the Making" will be an opportunity for seven pupils from this class to come and work on the Vouvant organ, which will be built in 2020, and to play in public, another important moment in a musician's training.
Free admission - free participation in costs
Children: concerts recommended for children aged 5 and over
In association with the Comité des Fêtes de Vouvant.
