Port de la Haye-Fouassière

For a relaxing stopover by the water or a lunch break, the port of La Haye Fouassière is the ideal stop-off point on the banks of the Sèvre.

Along the Sèvre Nantaise, several ports reveal its industrial past. In La Haye-Fouassière, sand was transported in wooden barges pulled by men or horses along the towpath that runs along the banks of the river. The boats were also used to transport wine, lime and "fouace" (which gave the town its name) in collapsible barges. In the past, a restaurant and a refreshment bar were located in this harbour, which is now used for picnics, summer walks, fishing and freshwater sailing.

- A picnic area, with the complicity of 100 Détours, a company specialising in the over-cycling of wooden exterior joinery, the site - on the banks of the Sèvre - was transformed in 2016 with fixed submersible furniture (benches and platforms to be shared under the name of Embarkation I and II). |
- A play area: to be installed in 2020 (Embarkation III). We are proposing a play area that is not figurative: something other than an animal, something other than a vessel, raft or ship; something other than a monster, a tree or a fortress. It's a question of trusting the adult and the child to project themselves into it". This new play area at the Port de La Haye-Fouassière was set up by the municipality and Le Voyage à Nantes.
