Lairoux comes from Leiros, which could mean "marshy". The village of Lairoux overlooks the floodplains of the Lay Valley. It is situated on a limestone peninsula on the edge of the major river bed of the Lay. This trail offers a variety of landscapes, including wet natural meadows, limestone hillsides, plains and shady paths.
