The Ile Charrouin departmental nature reserve, located in the Marais Poitevin, is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna.
A veritable maze of canals and landscapes typical of the Marais Poitevin, this reserve covers around a hundred hectares managed by the Vendée General Council. Terraces, meadows, ponds and canals are home to an abundance of wildlife, including remarkable species such as the purple heron and the otter.
