GRP®Tour de Brière

"And everywhere waved the great reeds, home to wild birds. From far and wide, this jungle let pale ponds glow. Then islands re-emerge, then reeds form again, then other waters reappear and the Brière seems to have no end...". (Alphonse de Chateaubriant, La Brière, 1923).
Rediscover the aquatic atmosphere described by Chateaubriant by walking this emblematic route through the Brière marshes. A 67km loop to be explored on foot, mountain bike or horseback.

You'll pass meadows, cross canals and catch glimpses of the vastness of the reed beds. Cows and horses graze freely on the marshes: remember to keep the fences closed.

The red and yellow stripes along the route are easy to spot.

HIKING INFO

Passerelle de Loncé (Trignac)
On two steps, on the marsh side, hikers will find only one slat to put their foot on instead of two. The crossing is not compromised, but it is potentially uncomfortable: please be vigilant!
The relevant departments have been informed and repairs will be carried out shortly.
