Le Petit Targé

Welcome to Le Petit Targé, a semi-troglodytic gîte in the heart of Parnay, 10 km from Saumur. A typical regional dwelling dug into the tufa rock and regularly renovated, situated between the vineyards and the banks of the Loire. Sleeps 4.

Treat yourself to a cave-dwelling experience in the heart of the village of Parnay, just 15 minutes from Saumur! With the Loire Valley châteaux, cycling and walking trails through the vineyards and along the banks of the Loire, and the chance to discover the region’s culinary heritage, a wonderful stay awaits you at Le Petit Targé.

A semi-cave dwelling, renovated over the years by successive generations of the owner’s family, this small holiday cottage comprises, on the ground floor:
- a small kitchen with a sink, gas hob, mini-oven, microwave and washing machine
- a small living room with a dining area and a relaxation area featuring a TV and a working fireplace

Upstairs, carved into the rock, you’ll find the shower room with a toilet and the two bedrooms: one with two 90-cm beds and the other with a 140-cm bed plus a cot.
You must pass through the first bedroom to reach the bathroom and the double bedroom. Due to the unusual layout of the property, access to the first floor is via a fairly steep staircase (as shown in the photos).

A separate toilet has been fitted in a space adjoining the gîte.

Enjoy a summer lounge carved out of the rock, ideal for relaxing in the cool air. A pretty walled garden is perfect for summer evenings with family or friends.

Just 300 metres from the gîte, you can enjoy the swimming pool, which is shared with guests staying in the nearby ‘Le Nid de l’Hirondelle’ caravan and the owners (enclosed garden). Children under 17 must be supervised. The swimming pool measures 10m x 5m and is up to 2.50m deep. The pool is open from May to October (unheated) between 10.00 and 12.00 and 14.00 and 17.00. Bath towels are not provided. Changing rooms, toilets and outdoor showers are 50 metres from the swimming pool. Access to the swimming pool is subject to an additional charge: €10 per day (option to be selected when booking).
