L'Arcison

Furnished accommodation in the heart of the Anjou vineyards in a restored barn. A bright, comfortable and peaceful gîte set in the heart of nature in a hamlet 5 minutes from the village of THOUARCE. The name ARCISON comes from the stream that runs through the bottom of the hills.

In the heart of the Arcison vineyards, on an authentic wine-growing estate and halfway between Angers and Saumur, this single-storey holiday rental welcomes you for a wine-tourism break in Anjou, combining nature, heritage and the Loire art of living. Ideal for holidays with family or friends, this gîte is an ideal base for hiking the Layon hillsides, discovering troglodytic cellars and the charming villages of the Loire Valley.

This characterful former barn has been fully restored and features a large, bright living room with a convivial dining area, a fully-equipped open-plan kitchen and a comfortable sitting room with television.
At night, there are three spacious bedrooms: one with two single beds (90 cm) and two with double beds (160 cm), ideal for a comfortable stay. The modern bathroom has a walk-in shower and separate WC. A laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer completes the facilities.

Outside, it's time to relax: a terrace with garden furniture, a pergola, a gas hob, sun loungers and an unoverlooked garden to make the most of the sunny days in Anjou. The exterior is enclosed.

The owner is passionate about his region, and offers you a free tour of the Layon and Bonnezeaux hillsides, showing you how the vines work, local history, Anjou mills and an introduction to boule de fort, the traditional sport of the Loire Valley. A tasting of the estate's wines (Rosé de Loire, Cabernet d'Anjou, Bonnezeaux, Coteaux du Layon, etc.) will complete this immersive experience.

Just twenty kilometres away, nature and wildlife lovers can explore the remarkable Doué-la-Fontaine Biopark, while botany enthusiasts can enjoy a sensory interlude in the Camifolia medicinal plant garden. Heritage lovers can continue their discovery by visiting the majestic Château de Brissac, the highest castle in France, or delve into local history by exploring the underground dwellings of Rochemenier Village Troglodytique.

The estate is also open to motorhome visitors, ideal for a break with friends or a tour of the vineyards.
