Saint-Pierre-sur-Erve, which has been awarded the Petite Cité de Caractère label, is renowned for its original events throughout the year, the permanent exhibition of works of art in its streets, its community bistro* and its organic baker who bakes bread over a wood fire (bread to order). The Erve valley offers a wide variety of walking routes, from the rugged terrain of the Saulges canyon to the moors and dry grasslands where Ouessant black sheep and aurochs graze. There are also 150 free climbing routes on the rock faces at Saulges. A great base for exploring the Coëvrons, Sainte-Suzanne and the west of Mayenne, or simply taking the time to relax.
