The gite is 15 km east of Fontenay-le-Comte, Capital of the Beautiful Spirits. Vouvant is only 45 km from the Puy du Fou to the north and the Venise Verte to the south, and 75 km from the Atlantic coast, La Rochelle and La Tranche-sur-Mer.
Not only is Vouvant listed as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France" and a "Small Town of Character", it is also a "Village in Bloom" and a "Village of Painters".
